Busy with

Currently I am performing virtual drug screening for inhibitors targeted to the polyamine biosynthesis enzymes of the malaria parasite (Plasmodium falciparum). My past research also concerned structural modelling of proteins from Plasmodium falciparum, specifically to understand unique features that distinguish them from the host. I am generally interested in structural biology, computational biology (structural bioinformatics) and evolution of protein structure and function. I would now like to apply molecular modelling to the design of proteins with new functionalities, especially with regards to green technologies (bioremediation) in a synthetic biology context. Furthermore, I also have a strong interest in understanding prebiotic evolution and the realisation of alternative biochemistries. I will likely be moving soon to Emory university in Atlanta to start a post-doc where I'll get to pursue some of these interests.
